MTV asks Martin Freeman, Ian McKellan, and Andy Serkis, to play Fuck, Marry, Kill with Tolkien characters, and it is amazing: three-minute video.

(Nb.: not seeing The Hobbit until this weekend, no movie spoilers.)

Ian McKellen at the end of the video was amazing wicked - so funny!

And we just had a scholarly lecture at work on the subject of crowdfunding, and Kickstarter in particular. He showed a slide of this beat-up old tenement building. "Any of you know what this is?" We didn't. "That's Kickstarter's HQ - or used to be. They just moved." Apparently there's not even one person with a background in law working for Kickstarter ... (our agency has been asked to start considering rulemaking for crowdfunding).

I've helped fund a couple of Kickstarters myself: here and here.
