Some poll questions for you. First, as I struggle to find time to publicize Con or Bust:

This poll is closed.

Con or Bust should have its own Twitter and Tumblr accounts.

No, keep using your own Twitter account and make a Tumblr account.
2 (9.1%)

My feelings are too complex to fall into a radio-button choice so I am commenting below (no, really, I mean it).

Next, I really want to squeeze out time to make at least one post for myself over the next week; what would you like to see out of this long-ish list?

I can see pros and cons about the Twitter account thing. I have no idea how much overhead, spoons-wise, a second account would be for you. But it might feel less personal (and hence possibly less aggravating) to have it separate.

(Nowdays I never use the Twitter account that I set up so I could see my daughter's tweets. Anyway, I figure our FB overlap is enough interference with her life at this stage. She deliberately did not give me her Tumblr account name, and I'm OK with that.)

It would be a minor irritation to have to have another login, but if people think it's more professional/respectable, then I can deal.

It seems also that it might be useful for you to separate the two, regardless of appearances/professionalism.

(I picked two options on the 2nd one because updating the bookblog may be onerous and not what you want to do just now.)

Both Twitter and Tumblr, even without a lot of posts - can eat a lot of time and energy - have you thought of seeking a volunteer to help? Or is there a way to automate some of the process, like having the new items post automatically to the Tumblr?

Agreed! Which would be better served by having independent logins/accounts.

Having its own Twitter account would be useful for "branding" clarity when making announcements and might encourage you to set up auto-posting of links to new auction items, but why would CoB need Tumblr? (Genuinely confused.) (ETA I mean auto-post to Twitter when a new WordPress entry is posted. Post post post gah.)

Tweetdeck (uses Adobe AIR, hence desktop app, as well as smartphone) and Hootsuite (web and smartphone) are two of several ways to be able to keep an eye on and post to multiple accounts. Both let the user set up columns.

Another way to disseminate announcements. And if I'm going to set up auto-posting links of new posts to Twitter I could also do so for Tumblr, I presume--I was thinking I'd be manually updating them all like I do here, Twitter, & the Carl Brandon Society mailing list right now, but surely there are plugins for that . . .

Ah, makes sense.

For "smartphone" I mean "tablet," apparently :) because I didn't read the entire post before commenting on the first poll. The Nexus 7 can run anything my smartphone can, and a couple of things it can't do well. UberSocial becomes a third possibility for monitoring multiple Twitter accounts--mobile only, but friendlier on Android than Tweetdeck (not updated for over a year) or Hootsuite (wishes it were still in a web browser, but the UI differs).

Thanks.

Meanwhile, this looks promising, and now my mini-break is over. =>

It does--I haven't tried such plugins myself; I've only done it the Twitter-visible-on-WP direction. Possibly also of use re: possibilities.
