Also, wow, thank you for linking that blog post about needle sizes. I tend to err on the side of a smaller needle, and I'd never thought about that being an issue for the thread going through a small hole, but in retrospect I'm pretty sure I've been making life harder for myself -- time to try changing things up, I think.
