While looking at what Mitchison is available through my university library, I noticed that Hathitrust has some of her earlier works as full text!
(The way that HathiTrust works is that their books are available for free viewing in a webviewer to anyone with a US IP address, and can be downloaded as PDF by people affiliated with subscribing university libraries.)

And actually, most of them are available on Google Books!
