Strock seems to have comprehensively misunderstood the positions of not only everyone in the audience, but everyone else on the panel. He's flattened all the complexity of your statements into "I am a rational being and the rational thing is to divorce one's emotional response to the human being who produced a piece of art from the emotional response to the art; these other people are unable to do so and insist that everyone else react the way they do."
... I may be flattening his statement, as well, but that's certainly the impression I get.
If that's how he came across during the panel, I entirely understand why you were reduced to shouting. Even if it wasn't an appropriate response, it's an understandable one under the circumstances.
