(I guess there's a valuable distinction between a child finding books and deciding to read them, on one hand, and being offered/recommended the same books by a trusted adult; I was seven when I found the Prydain books, and not scarred. As a result it wouldn't have occurred to me to postpone Prydain till 7+, but this meandering comment is by way of thanking you for making me pause and think about that stumble/offer distinction, because I too will need to evaluate the offering part in a few years.
