I also think that sometimes women can get into a feedback loop where they think, "Now at last I'm safe to be an authority." But . . . maybe the audience hasn't actually granted one that authority.

I've totally done that!

I've learned that, for myself, if I think "Yep. I've put in my hours and am now a great ally" I should pause because I'm about to trip all over my own stuff. Which is not to say that happened to Dr. Russell but etc.
