LJ matters: update

rilina rocks. Without her generous help, I would never have a spiffy S2 style, but would just keep muttering to myself about S2's inexplicability and why can't Six Apart give LJ a template-based system like Movable Type's? So, thank you, rilina.

Now, LJ, if only you would give me a way to display recent comments on my "friends" page in a sidebar, I would be perfectly happy. Well, with my LJ reading experience, anyway.

Oh, sure, you had to remind me.

Eventually we are promised that old-style comment pages will be done in S2 and that the view=flat argument will therefore be supported.

But until then, fine, I will suffer in imperfect happiness.

(Just added the "no subject" code--so very proud of myself. *rolls eyes* Still pondering some layout things, but perhaps that should wait until after I've gone to bed, already.)

Yay! A lot of it is still gibberish to me, but after a while I began to see some of the logic behind how it's structured.

That's *nice*. It doesn't look like you're doing anything special, but it's easier on the eyes than most lj pages.

I am very fond of the color scheme; I got it from the W3C, though I darkened up the text colors when I got brighter monitors.

I've just futzed a bit more with the layout, which may or may not end up being easier on the eyes; I have to live with it for a bit to see.
