My problem is that I like romance novels that manage to include stuff other than the relationships while still maintaining a focus. => (I read pretty narrowly in the romance genre.) So a lot of this is very likely just that I'm not the audience--but the implications still interest me, especially when the genres get spoken of in those terms.
