Hugging is way less creepy, but ... in general, whether to hug someone is something I work out from social context: sometimes appropriate, sometimes not. The idea of having to issue a blanket hug/don't hug statement because the people around me either can't or are unwilling to read social cues ... well, it's not as disturbing as making other parts of my body open source, but it does make me deeply uncomfortable with those people just the same.
