I just was waiting for final confirmation of the fact that that motionless body was DEAD, and I never got it. Which made me think even at the time that the eternal comics question of seeing the body is still a relevant one. But it's entirely possible that they meant him to be dead, and just left it that way to make us wonder rather than to give themselves an out for later.
