The anxious is slightly lessened because I had a good day at work, but I still have lots to do, so the quickest question from the prompt meme:

[personal profile] lnhammer prompted "When the last geese fly south."

Good riddance, aggressive, poop-generating bastards.

I keep wishing I could find information on whether Canada geese are at all tasty for meat. (Although I've only had two geese and I have no idea what breeds either were.) AU!Yoon would be a birdhunter and then I would be able to hunt your geese!

And ours, which make a poo-fest of the local middle school's track and small soccer field....

Yes; I do not remember if they are considered in season in the same way as other forms of game, but I know they are both edible and hunted for their meat by the sort of people who shoot geese (although I suspect also for the entertaiment value of being able to blast—or perforate; I would only bowhunt, if I were to take it up myself—the annoying honking defiler of your lawn all summer). I've seen recipes for them. I believe they're treated more or less the same way as storebought geese, although of course with a hell of a lot more cleaning involved.

[edit] Duh; of course they fall within hunting season. It's a plot point in The Fledgling (1980) by Jane Langton.

This is unpoetic and I applaud it entirely.

At a previous job, we were not allowed to park in the parking lot because of overflow issues. Employee parking was down the street. That year, a flock of geese took up residence on the lawn between MPOW and the employee parking. True to form, the geese pooped all over the sidewalk. So not only did we have to trudge down the street in the dark to our cars at closing, we also had to make sure not to step in geese poop. Talk about insult on top of injury!
