IIRC, the History of the World in 100 Objects podcast entry on the Elgin Marbles, which was done by the director of the BM, does a somewhat better discussion of the various problems with both returning and keeping them. But given the online statement, perhaps I'm misremembering. (It's still an excellent podcast, though; I highly recommend it.)
