IIRC I once betaed a story for [personal profile] yhlee that was second-person and a fairy tale, which was great, and of course "Story of Your Life" isn't actually second, it's first, a story being told to someone else. (Oh, we mentioned the vastly weird POV of the start of the Winnie-the-Pooh books, in which the narrator is telling a story to Christoper Robin, who is the "you" of the stories, and who also interjects to ask questions about the stories being told to and about him. SteelyKid is now old enough to find this incredibly weird and rather offputting. IIRC someone said this was an example of how things grow organically, because no-one would plan to do that on purpose!)

I feel like I've read something good in future tense and I can't think of what. You can do anything as long as it's good, but it's hard to be good in those, is basically what I think.
