Yes. (Very brief post.) Cohen interacts with the human protagonist while an AI and while embodied variously; their interaction is one of the story's main strands, though not the central one. There could yet be more nuance to that strand; I think the book makes good reading for its worldbuilding and pacing more than for its AI depictions specifically, FWIW.
