Steven Universe S05E26, "Familiar"

I thought this was the end of S5, but now it appears that S5 has 32 episodes rather than 26; that there will be single episodes on Dec. 31 & Jan. 7; and then there will be a four-part/1 hour episode on Jan. 21? (I'm basing this off the wiki, which you may prefer to avoid if you don't like seeing episode titles in advance.)
. . . now I'm paranoid again that there is no S6, which still has not been formally announced, that the work done on S6 was folded into the movie instead.
Anyway! Here is the first new episode since "Legs From Here to Homeworld" was released in July on the app, and it aired on Christmas Eve, thanks, CN.
SPOILERS.
. . . Homeworld is so fucking weird.
So I guess there's something about Homeworld itself that is making Steven's — was it sweat or tears, I can't remember now? — capable of generating Gem life in the form of Pebbles? Who are adorable but are also very concerning: everything on Homeworld seems to be alive! With at least some form of thought. Are they happy being, for instance, literal building blocks? (It's like that Transformers fic.)
I'm glad that the concerns about what the Diamonds are doing, and their inability to see Steven as separate from Pink, are not being swept under the rug. I confidently expect Steven's proposed party to be a disaster, of course, because smoothing things over and entertaining people didn't work for Pink to start with. Now I really want to rewatch, though, because it's been so long I can't really point to a strategy, exactly, that worked for Steven? I'm sure this wasn't it then, either.
(I am not a youngest child and I don't have close experience with any youngest-kid-in-big-family dynamics, so I'm really interested whether this all rings true to people who do.)
Just putting a pin in: Pearl can bring people in her head.
Umm. It was a nice song, but what if deja vu is the precursor to Steven getting all of Pink's/Rose's memories? On one hand it's an interesting philosophical thing about continuity of memory and its relation to identity, but on the other . . . I was instinctively strong against it, and I'm not sure I can articulate why. Maybe it's just kneejerk.
Bleh. I'm very tired and this was mostly setup. Next week, I guess!
