It's Festivids reveals and there are all kinds of rec posts and suchlike around, and I never make the time to watch as many vids as I want, but [personal profile] skygiants recommended this one and I had to watch it immediately:

A vid for Jason from The Good Place set to "All Star" by Smash Mouth! It's perfect and I love his face so much. Jason!!!!!

So the stuff in the prior post reminded me that I've always thought of Bruce Springsteen's "Livin' in the Future" as a Dark Tower song, and now that the movie is not good, I was daydreaming what a constructed trailer for the . . . TV show, probably . . . that we should have got would look like.

This is almost certainly impossible because of the footage that would be needed to be created from whole cloth, so this is just for fun.

spoilers for all of The Dark Tower series )

Someone give me a bazillion dollars and I'll make it happen.

Here is a wonderful Steven Universe vid by [personal profile] skygiants, which is about loving and being together even if the world might end. Disclaimer: I introduced this song to her as part of a "cheerful apocalypses" playlist called "(and I feel fine)", which you can listen to via YouTube, and I am unreasonably pleased by that. But it's still an amazing vid, it packs so many character arcs and has such great bouncy movement to match the bouncy song. If you're up through . . . I think the latest thing I recognized was S04E16, "The New Crystal Gems", you should definitely watch it.

Also, I can't remember if I've recced this already, but I made the playlist before I knew about "Dance Apocalyptic", so here is another fabulous vid, this one multi-fandom, by [personal profile] eruthros and [personal profile] thingswithwings:

My car's being totaled, I can't find my passport, and the weather's looking dodgy for SteelyKid's outdoor birthday party on Saturday. This calls for a re-watch of an adorable and well-structured Leverage vid: "Parachute" by [personal profile] thingswithwings.

(Everything will be fine, plans are in place to deal with it all, it's just a lot of hassle all at once. Thus, a happy thing before falling into bed.)
kate_nepveu: Captain America's shield (Avengers)

Kind of a long time ago, in comments to a non-public post, [personal profile] leighdb and I had too much fun sketching out an Avengers not-a-vid to Paul Simon's "You Can Call Me Al." It's a not-a-vid because neither of us vid or have time to learn, but it amused us and the song came up on shuffle today, so I've taken five minutes to put our comments in something like chronological order, tidy them up slightly, and post them for the possible amusement of others. (If this also results in inspiration, have at it.)

In which Bruce Banner is soft in the middle, Tony Stark has a short little span of attention, and Steve Rogers walks down a street in a strange world. )

There, now it's off my mental do-someday list, and I am amused. *wanders off humming*

This is from last summer, but many of you will probably not have come across it: "Around the Bend", a really awesome multifandom vid by [personal profile] danegen, to the song of the same name by The Asteriods Galaxy Tour.

Vidder's summary: Taking the wheel. My summary: Women being joyous and kick-ass in their motor vehicles (cars, motorcycles, spaceships, tanks, that kind of thing). Content notes: almost nothing—one raised middle finger; a few shots of scantily-clad people in implied sexual situations.

I particularly like the hard-acceleration turn-jolt transitions around 1:20-1:24 and the slowing-down transitions around 3:26 (boots!). Also everything with Starbuck flying (see also: "I Enjoy Being a Girl" by [livejournal.com profile] absolutedestiny) and whoever is backing up and doing a gun-hand at 3:40.
