kate_nepveu: sleeping cat carved in brown wood (Default)

The big news of the week: DSL has arrived, and after minor pulling-of-hair, is successfully installed and providing us with broadband over a wired/wireless network. Woo-hoo.

Tuesday we got more snow (gee). I decided that, rather than take an hour digging out the car and another hour driving into work, I would work from home (I'd brought my computer files home on a CD-RW). It made for a much nicer day Tuesday, though I was a touch annoyed at later finding that I had to charge the day as personal time. My own fault, those assumptions getting in my way.

The news I got Tuesday should have been A Sign that the universe disapproved of my staying home that day, really: trial was re-scheduled yet again, and is now starting Monday. As in, tomorrow. Hence the unfinished Boskone report, and no book log entries, and today's early post—I still have a bunch more prep to do, though I have accomplished enough that I am not nearly as nervous as I was in the middle of this week. It's my first trial, and I'll be conducting the direct examinations of a few of our witnesses and possibly a cross-examination. Wish me luck—I'll let you know how it goes.

Finally, silly Internet quiz: Which Greek Goddess are you?. I was mostly Athene, with an occasional dash of Hestia—works for me.
