Thank you for clarifying that. I did also read some of the opening; while I liked the found object on genies, the narrator's voice didn't quite click for me, and then I flipped around and stumbled into the scene I misconstrued.
I'd like to hear how the sequel is. Also, I saw in Locus that a third has been either sold or turned in, I forget which.
