Re: health insurance: oh, probably; the appeal of doing it this way would be, in my daydream, that I'd never have to worry about budgeting or running out--one-time arrangement and then peace of mind from then on.

Creating a job for yourself is definitely a creative method, though as you say, possibly not optimal . . .
