Hey all—I think I've got a possible offer for the livelongnmarry auction, but would like feedback:
* * *
Offered: Fiction Critique from a Legal Perspective
Offer: I will read up to 50 manuscript-formatted pages [*] of a fiction work or of a description of a fictional scenario and give you my opinion of it from a legal perspective.
I cannot give you legal advice and am unlikely to be able to nitpick specific details of an existing legal system (see below for the exceptions). However, I can tell you whether your fictional legal system makes sense to a lawyer, or how your lawyer character might act, or maybe even how to handwave nonsensical legal proceedings or bad lawyering if they're necessary to your plot.
I graduated from Yale Law School in 2002, and since then, I have been practicing civil litigation in New York's state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate levels. I can also give general comments on criminal, estate, family, and intellectual property law. Other areas, please ask.
[*] Double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman or Courier.
Contact: see userinfo.
Delivery: two weeks from receipt of your pages, EXCEPT that I am pregnant and my due date is July 28. If I go into early labor or you don't have pages ready at the end of the auction, I may need more time. (If you are in a real hurry, may I suggest the Buy It Now option? => )
Minimum bid: $15.
Buy It Now: $100.

Is that clear? Do you have any suggestions on the bid amounts—I'm completely guessing? Anything else I should add?
Edit: now posted!
