Here are some HP fan fic stories that are worth noting:

Back to the Garden (http://antoshevu.livejournal.com/39081.html) by antoshevu. This is a novel-length story, written before Deathly Hallows came out, detailing Harry’s seventh year. It is interesting because of the heavy amount of stylistic experimentation. There are wildly different voicings and textual strategies in practically every chapter. Warning: this is NC-17, explicitly sexual, including hetero, femslash and trios. It is also amazingly lyrical. Other stories by Antosha are nearly as good.

The New Zealand Chronicles (http://www.siye.co.uk/siye/viewstory.php?sid=11719) by stmargarets. St Margarets is a gifted romance writer, in whose hands the romantic relationship stands for all of the most urgent things in life. In this story, Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley get married and move to New Zealand for a year.

Viridian’s Harry Potter and the Nightmare of Futures Past (http://www.siye.co.uk/siye/viewstory.php?sid=9305). This novel-length fic is incomplete, and I doubt that Viridian will ever complete it. It was begun before Deathly Hallows was published. It is worth reading, however, for two reasons. First, Viridian is heavily influenced by Orson Scott Card, and you can see the influence in his style. Second, Viridian is a trained psychologist, and the first 28 chapters sketch a nice little character problem: a traumatized person longing for emotional intimacy who cannot have it.
