Am bummed; because of crazy life-ness, I've missed the new FMA eps on Adult Swim for at least the last three weeks. Annoyance!

But eventually, I suppose, AS will start re-running them the way they do the first season. But, still, argh.

I'm sure they will, but in the meantime, I can (1) point you to a site where a guy has matched up the audio tracks of the Adult Swim dubs with video rips of the Japanese DVDs [~200-300 MB an episode, I don't know how he deals with any cuts Adult Swim makes for time purposes], and is uploading them as torrents or (2) send you the recorded versions I've made, possibly on DVD by snail mail since they're ~800 MB an episode in the way I record them.

FMA is one of those things that I keep catching parts of, that seems like I should be interested in, but never seems to click for me.

Possibly my habit of never just watching television, but always doing something else at the same time exacerbates this situation.

If you get into it, I'd really like to hear what you make of the worldbuilding, especially the alchemy and the ethical stuff that comes out of it (a lot of which is probably evident just from the voiceover quote in my post). Also I suspect that the wider events that Ed & Al get involved in will interest you, involving the characters at the end of episode 2.

Yeah, thinking about it, I can definitely see a number of ways that this could be a good fit for you, if you're able to pay attention to it.
