The marzipan cake is named Battenberg, fyi. Marzipan - which I adore - is more polarising than I would have expected, and also less common in the US than in Europe (especially the German-speaking bits); fyi, the cheap yellow kind that's used for Battenbergs is the lowest tier, and a different animal from high-end confectionery marzipan.

Enjoy Dublin. We found it less enthralling than we'd expected, but it may have been contrast to the rest of Ireland which is one of our very favourite places. The traditional brown bread, often served for breakfast, is a thing of joy.
