Trailer. The AV Club says it starts airing next month on BBC One; no specific date on BBC One's website, nothing on BBC America about whether it will air simultaneous.

. . . I hate it. The frenetic music, the wizard-fu, the dull colors. I just about recoiled from the screen with wrong.

Of course I'll still watch it, but, ugh. I hope this is entirely unrepresentative.

It is definitely from the Harry Potter school of Dark Blue Cinematography, but, IDK, I am more hopeful. Perhaps I am just charmed to see a fantasy with no superheroes in it. ;)

Everything is from the school of dark blue cinematography lately and I'm so tired of it. Yes, they didn't have artificial indoor lighting, but they also had more than one candle, you know!

I'm still hopeful, there are some things it would be great to see on screen, and yeah, it's very different and that itself is promising, but wow, I was super not impressed.

Has it already played in Britain? I thought I heard complaints about it being too dark. (Well, unless I was confused and they were talking about something else. Perfectly possible.)

I liked some things, near the end, certainly enough that I plan to watch it. Though, like you, I plan to watch it anyway. Especially after the Tor reread!
